the first thing that comes to mind is respect for the people in egypt. complete respect for the will to take charge.
there are a million things that i would like to comment from the utter despair people were driven to before this happened, the totally unpredictable turn of events (this reminds me of a book - fooled by randomness) , the israeli and usa goverments support of the existing goverment to secure their own interests , the subversion of media by various goverments as these events unfold , a throwback to the indian revolution and lessons from it and finally maybe the lessons for democracy.
first of all the event is mind boggling, it has the potential to change at its heart the way goverments in the middle east perceive their subjects. the immense strategic repercussions it might have. but before we ponder on these points we need to remember what is important are the rights of the egyptian people. personally no one would be foolish to protest on days together unless something radical has taken over.
