copyright infringements !

none of the below are mine , my own or original .. every single word is copied and i am ashamed !

rather than love, than money, than faith, than fame, than fairness... give me truth.

If we admit that human life can be ruled by reason, then all possibility of life is destroyed.

What if I were smiling and running into your arms? Would you see then what I see now?

I will miss you too, but you are wrong if you think that the joy of life comes principally from the joy of human relationships. God's place is all around us, it is in everything and in anything we can experience. People just need to change the way they look at things.

how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong... but to feel strong.

For some folks, money is a foreign film without subtitles.

Listen to me, mister. You're my knight in shining armor. Don't you forget it. You're going to get back on that horse, and I'm going to be right behind you, holding on tight, and away we're gonna go, go, go!

I wish I knew how to quit you

Let me tell you something my friend. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man mad

"I love you"
"No you dont mean it, you are just pretending"
"thats how much i love you"

This kind of certainty comes but once in a lifetime. How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two

There are only four questions of value in life.
What is sacred?
Of what is the spirit made of?
What is worth living for?
What is worth dying for?

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place,
suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace,
suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste

I love that you get cold when it is 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle in your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve.

I think careers are a 20th century invention and I don't want one.

Happiness only real when shared.

kal ho na ho

as we grow older , ideas or ideals or principles that we hold close to the heart or we firmly believe slowly starts eroding. sometimes we are even very stubborn with those very principles and ideals , sticking to them under every circumstance and every situation. however sometimes in life all it takes is a certain event , a certain incident, a certain book , even a certain movie to shake those principles at its roots. and why not ... after all we have principles and ideals from our own experiences or what we observe in society. no one is born with anything right ?
this movie presents interesting highlights , kal ho no ho if we ignore the bias of shah rukh's eternal crying (waqt nahi hai , waqt nahi hai , waqt ---- in that typical shah rukh accent, pursed lips and tight tshirt clinging to his 6 pack!) is a story that is lovely. it presents a challenge that we as human beings rarely face... to love and marry a woman who loves another man ? the situation that saif ali khan finds himself must be the most difficult one .. he loves a girl , to discover that she loves another guy .. and that guy doesnt love her since he is on his deathbed. and eventually he marrys her with the knowledge that she is still in love with the other guy. it talks about the ability , the capacity that saif ali khan's character has to accept someone ... the love that he has i think transcends the love that the other two show. if love is meant to happen between just two people , and there is on true love for every person then does preity zinta really love said ali khan to eventually marry him ? cause its apparent till the end that she truly loved shah rukh khan. and how difficult it must be for shah rukh khan to see her with someone else and actually making that happen.
as we grow , from school days to college the concept of love changes , the idea of what it is. sometimes one has the ideal that there is a true love waiting for one out there in the world etc etc.. but i think at the end its not so much as to find the other person but the capacity within oneself that is expressed. the capacity or the ability that one has within oneself, the extent that a person can express his emotion for someone is what is evident. its who we might be as a person and what is inside the person is what comes out eventually as love , and we seek a person who can understand and maybe be close to what we can understand ... and who knows there is more than one person on the planet for that to happen :P !

and who is that ??!

a nobody in banglore becomes somebody in india ! yes it is possible , no one does not have to achieve anything, not do anything constructive, not win a nobel prize, not play for india's hockey team (guess even this makes news !), not even participate in those hazaar reality shows and become the indian idol. if you ask the aam janta in this small quiet peaceful city of mangalore they will tell you ! activities in the name of indian culture, religon etc etc is bordering on the insanity these days. and credit also has to be given to the media. dont they utilize all these opportunities to make a further intrusion into the market pie of their competitor. is there a lack of a responsible, competent and a matured head at the helm of affairs in every post of public authority in india ?!

the attention ego

oh yes we are the greatest nation in the world ! didnt we win the golden globe awards recently for the best movie, best blah blah blah. yes it has finally put india on the world map, they recognize our talent, its an acknowledgment of the rising superpower, the shining .. india ! only for a small fact that the movie was not directed by an indian, the screenplay was not written by an indian. otherwise the cast was from bollywood, especially the protagonist and his female love interest !! arent these reasons enough to be graceful about this entire awards not being a credit to india as such but only for the movie .. thats all there is to it ! but no the media says nothing doing lets start the propaganda (apparently with origin to one famous psychologist to make money !! ) and all that one sees is the visuals of slumdog millionaire being the face of indian cinema. bollywood has no contribution to the movie, yes anil kapoor was the most visible face but then it was a role of a supporting actor, he was not even part of the main story that formed the movie. i saw the movie and i will not take any credit away from him ... his portrayal was perfect and he did it with elegance and elan. he played his part, imraan played his too but the major actors who captured everyones attention were the two love birds who had a soft corner for each other since childhood. the screenplay was good and i would credit much of the movie's success to the screenplay and direction. also in the backdrop of skepticism of the ecnoomy , job market and the false sense of security that goverments provide all around the world there is all the more reason to derive inspiration from this movie.

but we need to introspect, seriously why is the media or the indian psyche so attention hungry ... yes every poll in the newspapers are to do with no indian issues but how 'external' factors will/will not/maybe affect india. some issues are conveniantly ignored, people all around the world will be happy to hear what happened at mangalore, what happened at goa, what keeps happening in delhi, mumbai etc etc. is it only to portray those things which keep us in favour with others, while the real issues, issues that a common man faces is kept aside ? and the actions in mahrashtra against north indians .. i am so proud to call myself an indian .. and all these people are supposed to be my brothers ! can i call them so ?

and people have impunity to say that the movie for which rehaman won the golden globe depicts only the 'slums' of india .. that the foreigners derive pleasure looking at the poverty in india. i really want to scream from the top of my lungs .. are we so short sighted that we cannot even accept the problems , that we cannot even acknowledge that right outside our houses in bombay there is poverty all around and those people dont even have access to the basic amenities which we take granted. it is easy to write in a blog, it is easy to make judgments from the comfort and luxury that we are in. for heaven's sake it is a movie and let it be ! what happened to the critical analysis of a movie where you leave your bias at home.
