well am amazed at the stories in the indian newspapers after the new president at the white house. well now since he is the most powerful man on earth now one can expect news splashed all across the newspapers proclaiming that fact and the dawn of a new era and what not ! but believe me there was actually an article discussing the merits and demerits of the new president calling and speaking to our prime minister ! I mean yes our sense of identity is so low that the media always thinks India exists as an acknowledgement by someone else ! Is it stooping down to the level of having debates on a phone conversation ! And once it happens there will be breaking news on every news chanenel with 3 analsts disecting every word that the leaders of the worlds biggest demcracy have exchanged.
and now even ordinary indians are made to vote on which president at usa is better for india or what about the great financial crisis affecting the very fabric of the IT industry. some even ran to america to get books signed !! and am not referring to the person from tamil nadu ! If we look back for a minute India is this school kid with the tongue outside waiting for attention and waiting to know what the teacher of the class thinks of him/her ! and i remember me detesting such parasites.
Now to make a furthe analysis well for one the people maketh the country and the media is partly responsible for this. I saw a slogan somewhere saying "Have an opinion" .. I always prided on the fact that i had my opinion on almost everything but reflecting there is not even an iota of difference to what i might think about the chances of dravid playing in the next match or preity zinta getting something somewhere pierced ! hold on though .. it does make a difference if I have an opinion about the way the goverment is run, the policies that my mom makes for me to not stay late away from home. so the media creation is for every person to have an opinion for everything which can then lead to increased viewership ! i distinctly remember chandler saying "If i dont input those numbers ... it is not going to make any difference". So instead of my mom spending time on something like learning to email me she spends it on watching how the success of shah rukh khans movie means that he is the undisputed badshaah !
Well media for one should act responisbly cause they are in a position of power. Again quoting from one of the movies .. this is like my fav quote " with great power comes great responsibility". In this world of intense competition they need their niewers to have opinions cause only opinated people watch the news channel !
well thats my opinion .. contradicting to say the least considering the subject of this post !

a call for being different
well i have given in to the fact that i have to write something a little different to keep my very dedicated fans (if any) intact. well supposedly my other blog was a big bore with all the posts seemingly very same which if you ask me shows how the mind has become immune to subtle changes.
calls for 'something different' and 'please not again' and even 'are you sucidical' from people of different ages and different ethnic groups made me realize if i have to keep up my TRP ratings i would have to do something immediately. maybe call a khan for some game-show or put in loads of women who fight with each other in my stories ... atleast i get to keep the male membership alive and also the 40 years olds who cut vegetables while reading my blog. then the market survey results started pouring in ... we had taken opinions across 5 continents and this is what the survey said .. 100% of the people said "a new blog" ... and to think 47% of the statistics are made up at that point of time .. which makes me wonder whether this falls in the 47% category or the 53% .
anyways this is what happens when we need to keep readership/viewership alive ... nonsense is written which is well appreciated by loads of people !
